Under this concept’s umbrella I have produced several video, promoting the cause of Roma people from Romania.
We watch Tv, read the news and we find out things about Roma people. They beg, steel, rape and kill. And sometimes they sing. And Romania is their home country. They leave Romania and go to France, Italy, Spain and all around Europe, because they dream to be rich. What else do you know about gypsies from Romania? There are more stories to be told about this ethnic group. From poverty to dignity, from mistery to passion. These are only two paradox of Roma people. I have intensivly worked for some of these projects with Mugur Vărzariu, a well-know photographer from Romania.
One character that I particularly liked was Brațara, a so called whitch.
The videos produced had a great impact on both Roma and Romanian community and debating the issue of forced eviction, forced social integration in normes and rules that donțt apply to Roma community.
